Gazprom stops gas exports through Austria, works on solution

MOSCOW/ROME, Oct 3 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom has stopped exports of natural gas through Austria because of denial of the Austrian operator to confirm transport nominations, Gazprom said in a statement on October 1.

The operator’s decision is connected to the regulatory changes that happened in Austria at the end of September, and Gazprom is working on solution to the problem together with its Italian customers, the company said.

Earlier in the day, Italy’s Eni said in a statement that Gazprom had notified the company of its inability to pump gas to Italy through Austria.
